R&S®ScopeStudio Software, a PC-based oscilloscope solution to boost development teams

Rohde & Schwarz is enhancing its oscilloscope offering with the introduction of the innovative R&S ScopeStudio application, which brings the functionality of the MXO series oscilloscopes to the PC, often enabling a more convenient and efficient workspace. This advanced solution allows engineers to visualise, analyse, document and share oscilloscope measurements, making development teams more efficient.

R&S®ScopeStudio is a new Rohde & Schwarz software application that brings the capabilities of the MXO series oscilloscopes to the computer. This PC-based oscilloscope solution allows viewing, analyzing, documenting and sharing oscilloscope measurements without the oscilloscope hardware, and is a more accessible solution for individual users and development teams.

Users can import oscilloscope waveforms or complete sessions – a mixture of captured waveform data and instrument settings files. The measurements and analysis options that follow are similar to those on the MXO oscilloscope. However, the app offers three key benefits:

1. 1. Users can view and analyse previously acquired data outside the instrument, the oscilloscope remains free for others to use.
   2. Engineers can use the computer tools to document designs more efficiently. This not only increases productivity, but also improves the quality of images and annotations by taking advantage of the flexibility of additional computing resources.
   3. Research and development teams can share measurement results more effectively with remote sites, partners, suppliers and customers. In development teams, the need to share technical details of measurements is common, and this PC-based oscilloscope application simplifies the process.

Standard features of the app include R&S SmartGrid, indicators, more than 40 automatic measurements, mathematical functions, filters and a time-range display of the signal spectrum. Support for serial buses protocols decoding (I2C, SPI, RS-232/UART, CAN, CAN-FD, CAN-FL, LIN, SENT, MilStd 1553, ARINC 429 and SPMI) will soon be available.

R&S ScopeStudio is also an ideal solution for education in measurement classes, where students can carry out exercises on their own without the need for special hardware for everyone.

The new R&S®ScopeStudio PC application software for the MXO Series (R&S®MXO 4 , R&S®MXO 5 and R&S®MXO 5C) oscilloscopes is now available from ALL DATA EE with perpetual or temporary licence.
