New firmware release for R&S®MXO4 oscilloscopes

Rohde & Schwarz announces new firmware release for its outstanding oscilloscope series MXO4

On the 10^th of July Rohde & Schwarz released the 2.2 (2.2.2.1) version for their MXO4 family of oscilloscopes.

The outstanding features for this version are the already amazing FFT extended from 1 to 4 simultaneous (that can take any analog channel or math as source) and the innovative Zone-Trigger (4 zones, each with up to 8 areas: freely assignable to analog chanels, FFTs and math).

Download and installation

• Download the latest firmare from R&S MXO4 firmware download area to the root folder of a USB pen drive.
• Insure that the instrument is powered and not running any application (you can press the “Preset” button).
  1. 1. Insert the USB key into the scope’s front USB connector and
     2. navigate to:   Menu >> Settings >> Maintenance >> FW Update 
        
     3. select:  Install from file (button)
     4. from the file browser select USB (sda) device, (double) tap on Setup_MXO4_V2.2.2.1.exe and/or press open button
• The unit will reboot twice, first into firmware upgrade mode and, when finished, again into normal user mode.

WARNING: in the firmware upgrade there is always a risk: instrument must not lose power supply. The process takes a couple of minutes, if you want to be totally safe you can use an UPS.

MXO4-K31: Power Analysis (last chance)

With the previous firmware version 2.0, R&S added the MXO4-K31 option to the MXO4-PK1 bundle. Therefore, new MXO4-PK1s also integrate the MXO-K31, but the same does not apply to existing and already activated/installed ones.

This is an additional reminder (and a limited-time offer) for all our customers who purchased an MXO4 oscilloscope with the MXO4-PK1 bundle before firmware release 2.0.
Please contact us urgently (within the 31^th of July) if you would like to freely add the MXO-K31 option to your existing MXO4-PK1 bundle.
